Mi Abuelo

IMG_4203 Hearinf from the wise

(LB)Pictured with My Sister Laura (R) Hearing from the Wisdom of my grandfather.

This is my grandfather who lives in Guadalupe, CA. (My dads father). I have had the privilege of getting to know more about him now that I am an adult. Because I was raised with my moms father, Estevan, whose last name I carry (Arellano), I missed the opportunity to know my abuelos Antonio and Celia. My Grandfather Antonio was born in Zacatecas Mexico, and my grandmother Celia was born in Gallup, NM and later raised in El Toreon Coahilla Mexico, were she met my grandfather. They were both baptized, married and missionaries through the Apostolic Church of Mexico, my grandfather a preacher, they later came to U.S. through Los Angles to plant churches.

He is very ill in California, this photo was taken in May of 2008. I hope to see him again soon. He is very wise man and a man of Gods word. I will look for a photo I have somewhere of both of them.

So what does this make me? A Mexican, New Mexican, Native American- Born in Santa Maria, CA. Twice an Indian, (My moms mother, Camilla, was 1/4 Indian.
