Is this another 2008 Presidential Election flip flop… again?

I just read this news here about Obama wanting to expand (this administrations) President Bush faith based initiative program efforts.

Isn’t this the same guy that has echoed many times “We don’t want 8 more years of this “administrations failed policies”…? I guess this is the only policy of the last 8 years that just might not fail him a few extra votes.

Quote of the Day-

“The price is totally dependent on the world market for crude oil, and the demand for crude oil is insatiable,” Domenici said.
He said Americans can help stabilize gas prices in the longer term by using less gas and pushing federal policymakers to open domestic oil reserves— such as the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska and shale oil deposits in Colorado— to drilling.
“If we really believe we have a crisis, then we ought to produce more homegrown product,” Domenici said. “We are leaving a lot of oil and gas unattended in the United States.”

Ever thought about Praying for President?

1 Tim2:1-5 1I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— 2for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 5For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

“Saying that single women could be ‘punished with a baby,’ is not only a slap in the face to every child born to a young mother, but it diminishes the great joy that children bring to their families regardless of the circumstances in which they were born.”

Read more here

“In America, we should be working to help young babies that are born in challenging situations and offering assistance and hope to their mothers. We should not be condemning them by saying that somehow it has now become ‘punishment’ to have a child in this country.

“We call upon Senator Obama to issue a public apology for these profoundly misguided statements and also address his anti-child and anti-compassion mind set. Mr. Obama talks about change and justice for the weakest and most vulnerable of our society. However, by saying women are ‘punished’ by having children shows a rigid values system from 100 years ago, one that offers condemnation to those struggling instead of hope.”
The Christian Defense Coalition calls Senator Obama’s comments insensitive, misguided, harsh and insulting to every single mother and their children.

+My Comments

I am not at all condoning the actions and involvement of premarital sex among youth and the unwed. “Those who are without sin shall cast the first stone”, and I am not about to pick up any…Panch and I are examples of this, we got married (May 3, 1997) when Panch was 4 months pregnant with our oldest son Uriah, 8. He was not a “Punishment”. Although, we both mutually have come to terms that there should have been some restraints, which we greatly regret now. The greatest advice that we can offer is, yes, there will be consequences, your plans will be altered, and you may well find yourself raising a child single, but as young parents you have no other choice but to accept personal responsibility for such actions. I do however, sympathize with the many young girls that we have known over the years, whose babies fathers have not stuck around to share and take on that responsibility. I commend them, and thank you for loving and dedicating your self to your children. They are a reward and a blessing!

Isaiah 5:11,22 11 Woe to those who rise early in the morningto run after their drinks, who stay up late at night till they are inflamed with wine. 22Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine and champions at mixing drinks,.

Proverbs 23: 35

29 Who has woe? Who has sorrow?
Who has strife? Who has complaints?
Who has needless bruises? Who has bloodshot eyes?30 Those who linger over wine
who go to sample bowls of mixed wine.31 Do not gaze at wine when it is red,
when it sparkles in the cup,
when it goes down smoothly!32 In the end it bites like a snake
and poisons like a viper.33 Your eyes will see strange sights
and your mind imagine confusing things.

34 You will be like one sleeping on the high seas,
lying on top of the rigging.

35 “They hit me,” you will say, “but I’m not hurt!
They beat me, but I don’t feel it!
When will I wake up
so I can find another drink?”

Should they really be discussing “University matters” under the influence of refreshments?

“…it is within my scope of duties to meet with university Government Relations constituents to discuss matters that impact the university, and a small part of these year-round activities and communications includes the purchase of refreshments…” Marc Saavedra

Saavedras has worked as an advocate for DWI… But he is No Stranger to the other side view more here.“Saavedra said the DWI occurred six years ago when he was young and that it helped him understand the importance of DWI programs that he has since lobbied for….
“I believe I’ve been able to lobby for close to $1 million in DWI money for programs both for Metro Court and statewide,” Saavedra said. “I’ve worked side by side with Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and I’d have no problem calling Nadine (Milford) right now and telling her about my arrest.” .”

Proverbs 31: 4-5 “It is not for kings, O Lemuel—
not for kings to drink wine,
not for rulers to crave beer,5 lest they drink and forget what the law decrees,
and deprive all the oppressed of their rights.

After the University of New Mexico’s government affairs director was arrested for drunken driving in 2006, he signed a “Last Chance Agreement” in which he pledged not to consume alcohol as long as he was employed by the university.
Marc Saavedra, the school’s top lobbyist, also agreed in the document to undergo treatment and submit to drug and alcohol testing.
In addition, he pleaded guilty to first-offense DWI and was given a deferred sentence and placed on one year’s probation by a Metro Court judge. See Arrest Here

UNM says it has no qualms about Saavedra buying lawmakers and other officials at least $1,500 in alcoholic beverages since his arrest in his mission to create goodwill and build relationships on behalf of the university. He rang up bar tabs both while on probation and afterward, and while prohibited from drinking.
Lots of liquor
The university allows reimbursements for alcohol expenses when incurred at hospitality events for guests of the university.
McKinsey said no taxpayer money is used.
Some alcohol purchases for which Saavedra was reimbursed included drinks served with meals.
Others took place during meetings that lasted late into the night. Several receipts paint a picture of free-flowing beer, vodka and assorted other liquor, courtesy of Saavedra’s credit card and, ultimately, the state’s flagship university.
Take Saavedra’s $233.31 tab at the Q Bar on Nov. 23, 2007— at which point he would have completed his one-year probation.
Receipts show the evening began at 8:25p.m. and the tab was paid at 12:20 a.m. Saavedra stated that his guests were Beverlee McClure, director of the Association of Commerce & Industry (ACI) and former higher education secretary; Paul Gutierrez, executive director of the Association of Counties; Morris “Mo” Chavez, the state insurance superintendent; and a state personnel office employee.
Saavedra reported that they discussed ACI’s agenda, uncompensated health care and government relations compensation.
Refreshments at the Q Bar included 12 Grey Goose vodkas, two Ketel Citron vodkas, four Patron Silver tequilas, three Corona beers and five Stella Artois beers.

I hope the American people will remember this track record of Hiliary when they go out to vote in November.
Daniel Arellano

March 27, 2008 — WASHINGTON - Hillary Rodham Clinton’s fairy-tale landing in Tuzla, Bosnia, under heavy sniper fire is part of a widespread pattern of lying about her record, Barack Obama’s campaign charged yesterday.

“Clinton’s fantastic invention of a sniper-raked landing is only one in a growing list of instances in which she has exaggerated her role as first lady, particularly with respect to domestic policy,” a scorching campaign memo said in one of the harshest broadsides to date.

Yesterday, I signed the following pledge:

AMERICANS for BETTER IMMIGRATION

NO AMNESTY PLEDGE

“I pledge to oppose amnesty or any other special path to citizenship for the millions of foreign nationals unlawfully present in the United States. As President, I will fully implement enforcement measures that, over time, will lead to the attrition of our illegal immigrant population. I also pledge to make security of our borders a top priority of my administration.” Source Mike Huckabee.com

Here is one Latino Pastors advice to Mike Huckabee.

Mike, on this issue you must not be so rigid. Enforcing this pledge would tear families apart. Ex 22:21 gives a better perspective. I am Hispanic and a pastor, a strong conservative. There is an answer to the immigration problem - one the Lord Jesus Christ would approve of. Prov. 6: 1-5 gives you a way out of the rigidity of this pledge. Most hispanic citizens compassionately connect to the immigrant by culture, history, faith, or language. The sons and daughters of immigrants are here to stay as citizens. Understanding them and leading with them the way Christ would want us to is a better way of creating an answer to the immigration issue. I don’t disagree that the border needs to be sealed.

I will support your candidacy. On this issue I will receive resistance if you don’t soften your position.

The Conservatives will have a voice in this Election. I been hearing the liberal media saying that the conservative voice has become irrelevant this time around in this election. In the next few days and in the coming caucus I am predicting that value voters and conservative vote will rise once again to turn this election around as in times past. To be honest, I was a bit discouraged on how things are turning out and was much feeling like Dr. James Dobson. Read his thoughts here.

This Man Running for President says, “My faith is my life - it defines me. My faith doesn’t influence my decisions, it drives them. I don’t separate my faith from my personal and professional lives.”

I pray many believers will live out their faith when they go out to the polls in this upcoming election.
