A letter from the Director

Dear family and friends of Hope for Youth Alliance,
As we begin a new year, one of the most important commitments that we can make this coming year is to honor our savior and obey his commission in one simple, yet profound way that causes the transformation in the lives of others, that is through the ministry of mentoring. Mentoring has become the more modern term for “Discipleship”. Matt 28: 19 “Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.” The question then is, who are we discipling? Christ gives every believer the mantle of this important ministry. When you become a mentor you are doing the very same work that Christ embarked on over 2 thousand years ago with a group of 12 young men who were religious zealots, thieves, and the not so good enough’s. How did He do it? Mark 3:12 says “Jesus called to himself those He Wanted…that they might be with Him.” In over 10 years of working with youth, I am a firm believer that youth in our communities and churches are in need of more than pizza, pop, popcorn, and movies. They need someone who is committed to walking with them in their mess and brokenness. This is only possible by spending time with the ones that you are shaping, and developing. If you would like to mentor a youth this year, please see our schedule of mentor training’s and attend one to learn how you can help. This is what impassions me. Thanks for your continued support.

Comprehensive Study on Intercessory Prayer Shows that God Answers Prayers
Recent study shows that Prayer does work. James says,”Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him/her and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. and the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned he will be forgiven.” 4:14-15
I recently had a relative of mine hospitalized due to a heart attack and stroke, which the Medical Doctors said she might remain Paralyzed if she were to live again. I testify today that God has answered our prayers and she is recovering, and gaining back her mobility. God answers prayer. It is your faith that unlocks the door to your healing.
